What interests do you have in the period?
I am researching what I believe to be local ruins of the Louth Militia who were predominantly dragoons.
How did you find out about this project?

Hello Stephen, I have just seen your comment. I am sorry for the delay in reading this site. The Louth Regiment of militia was not commanded by Speaker John Foster, it was commanded in the period by his son, Thomas Foster. The regiment were not dragoons but infantry, and one of the better ones. What is the structure and where is it? Remember if it is on Co Louth, it is unlikley to be Louth Militia as in this period they did not serve in their home county. However I will say no more at this stage.

Regards

Ivan Nelson
